The Supreme Court canceled the constituency elections where George Wanjohi, elected as the Member of Parliament. KI took to the court to block his election

KI wanted the court to declare him the winner but The court said it did not have the mandate to declare him the winner over wanjohi and so the people of Mathare were given a chance to go back to elect member of parliament
The supreme court judges included Karpana rawal Smokin Wanjala, Ibrahim Mohamed, Philip tunoi, Njoki ndungu and jacton ojwang who come up with the ruling
This comes at a time when judiciary is facing credibility issue with Governor Wambora debacle. For Mathare residents this has come as an early recall for the former MP who been accused of doing little despite Mathare CDF being allocated the highest share in Nairobi. Rising cases of insecurity, favourism, corruption and lack of activities in the constituency are some of the complaints being raised. There are no visible projects implement by over for the one year he has been in office.

Local football clubs namely, Huruma Asec and Real Mathare are struggling to nurture local talents but CDF has done nothing with 2% of 68 million allocation to boost sports in the constituency. As a result more than 20 youths have been killed due to idleness.
