A six storey building collapsed yesterday night in Huruma Ngei ward Mathare Constituency near Meta meta Bar and Restaurant at around 9:45PM.The building which was constructed near the Mathare River is believed to have caved in due to heavy rains. So far 7 people have been confirmed dead while hundreds have been hospitalized. Many people have gathered at the scene to look for their loved ones.
Jennifer Dwalo Achuku is one of the victims who were at the scene to look for her sister Ruth Auma Okello who was living in the collapsed. Jennifer’s Sister Ruth Auma Okello also known as Mama Bondo/Daddy is believed to have been trapped inside the building with her four children. Only one child (Daddy), was rescued and has been hospitalized at BLUE HOUSE in Eastleigh a long Juja Road.

The KENYA RED CROSS TEAM has urged those looking for their loved ones to go to DAIMA PRIMARY SCHOOL and HURUMA CDF HALL for confirmation.
